Stephanie Garmey's exhibition, Wild Woods, is a show that honors the instinctual intelligence, power, and dignity of animals shaped by ancient ecosystems. These works reflect animal lives as living libraries guided by inherited knowledge, migratory paths, and deep relationships to land. As human impact threatens these delicate balances, the exhibition invites reflection on our shared origins and calls for protection, respect, and coexistence with the natural world.
Stephanie Garmey has exhibited her work nationally and internationally, with presentations at Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, IA&A at Hillyer in Washington, DC, the Delaware Contemporary in Wilmington, as well as galleries in France, Japan, and New York. She is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including support from the Maryland State Arts Council. Her work has been featured in BmoreArt, The Washington Post, and East City Art Reviews, and she has completed artist residencies in France and Vermont. Garmey holds an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MA in Painting from Purdue University.
