Garrison Art Center's Sources of Financial Assistance:
Donor-Funded Financial Assistance
We believe art should be accessible to all. So far this year, donors like you contributed $2,500 in financial assistance to families participating in our summer programs.
The Renee Ulrich Oswald Award
Thanks to a generous yearly contribution from Renee Ulrich Oswald’s legacy, we can give a full scholarship for Summer Arts on the Hudson.
The Gillette Scholarship Fund
Henry S. Gillette, an accomplished artist, author, teacher, and mentor, was a devoted participant at Garrison Art Center for many years and left a bequest to the Art Center to support the arts education program. Mr. Gillette was recognized throughout his life for his talents in various media, including painting, book illustration, and teaching. Through his legacy, we are able to provide year-round financial assistance.
The Anita Balter Creative Fund
Anita Hart Balter was an artist and writer well known for her role in fostering the arts in the Hudson Valley.
She was on the board of the Garrison Art Center, where she established a Scholarship and Mentor Program in which artists worked with promising local pupils. In 1987 she was a founding board member of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. Through her legacy, we are able to provide year-round financial assistance.
If you are interested in leaving a legacy to provide financial assistance to artists, please contact our Executive Director at Director@garrisonartcenter.org.
