Silent Auction is cancelled for 2020.
The Riverside Art Auction, previously known as Artists on Location, was founded in 1981 by renowned plein air painter Donald Jurney. The Auction is known for the beauty of its location on the bank of the Hudson River as well as the festive atmosphere and diversity of masterful works by Hudson Valley Artists. This year in addition to 35 invited plein air participants - 10-15 artists of different medium/technique will be invited to take on the challenge to create a single-day outdoor work of art.
Nicholas D. Lowry, president of Swann Galleries, has served as the auctioneer in recent years, bringing his expertise and lively style to the auction. (Read an informative interview with Nicho about the Antiques Road Show here.) 70+ Hudson Valley Artists would have been included in the Silent Auction.
