Our popular Itajime workshop is back with a new Itajime technique added! Shibori is defined as cloth that is given three-dimensional shape and then dyed. Cloth may be drawn up and bound; stitched and gathered; pleated and bound; folded and clamped; or wrapped around a pole.  This workshop will go further into Itajime, fold and clamp techniques, previously not covered in Shibori workshops at Garrison Art Center including Beni Itajime, a carved board clamped resist technique which Katrin will demonstrate using plexiglass. Each student will receive a cotton scarf and use the plexi boards to create their own Beni Itajime scarf.
