Have you learned how to knit a stitch, but don’t know where to go from there? Bring your works in progress, or grab a pair of knitting needles and yarn and join us! In this workshop we will cover how to get a project started on your needles with two common methods for casting on, long tail and cable cast on. Got a scarf knit up but don’t know how to finish? We will learn how to get your project finished and off the needles by binding off and weaving in ends. Interested in how to purl, or increase or decrease stitches? We will tackle the purl stitch as well as some simple ways to add or take away stitches. If there’s time, translating patterns and wet blocking finished items will be covered as well. This workshop is intended for beginners who already know how to knit a stitch. If you do not have knitting needles or yarn, please email education@garrisonartcenter.org and we will provide a set you can borrow during the workshop.
