About the jurors

Robin Rice is a fine art photographer and successful owner of Robin Rice Gallery based in New York City and Beacon, NY. Rice’s film photography spans multiple continents and five decades and she has exhibited domestically and internationally. Dating back to the 1970s Rice photographed the emerging underground music scene including Patti Smith and photographed the opening night of Studio 54 where she took lustrous close-ups of Grace Jones and Andy Warhol. She later photographed her world travels through South Africa, Europe, and South America. Her latest exhibition features her early work on Kodachrome 25 for the first time and acts as a career retrospective that showcases the incredible range she’s developed as a photographer from 1975- 2018. Also of note, photographs that Rice shot at the opening night at Studio 54 will be in the exhibition at The Brooklyn Museum - Studio 54 exhibition “Night Magic” March 13, 2020. 

Cali Gorevic is the founder of PHOTOcentric and best known as a fine art black and white photographer based in the Hudson Valley, NY. Her photography portfolios include nature, architecture, pinhole and still life. She has moved into the digital world, while not forsaking medium format gelatin silver. She has had many solo and juried shows in the Hudson Valley, New York City, California and overseas. Her work appears in numerous private and corporate collections. Cali has served as a curator, juror, and judge for many organizations including NYFA.

What to Submit 
Original images in all photographic mediums: Digital, Film, Alternative Processes, Pinhole, Photograms, Black and White or Color. Work must not have been exhibited previously at Garrison Art Center. No pornographic or defamatory images.
Exhibition requirements 
Accepted photographs when exhibited must meet the following criteria for the exhibition:
•    Must measure no larger than 30” x 40” or 1200 square inches including frames. 
•    Must be professionally framed, ready to hang, with name, medium and price on the back. 
•    Must be matted in white, framed with a simple, museum-style frame (black, white or aluminum). 
Accepted work delivered to the gallery that does not comply with all the above requirements will not be exhibited. 

How to submit
All images to be submitted as digital files via Smarter Entry. Follow the online instructions to submit application and images. After you have paid you will have an opportunity to review your application at any time before the deadline.
An entry fee of $40 for 5 images will be charged until August 9, $50 for 5 images will be charged from Aug 10 – Sept 6. You may submit additional images at $10 each. Your electronic credit card receipt will be your confirmation. 
Smarter Entry Submission Image Format: 72 ppi resolution JPEG; 1,280 pixels on the longest side; RGB color space (standard) with layers flattened, 8-bit mode publication
All accepted work will be included in the exhibition book PHOTOcentric 2019. The publication will be available for purchase.

All artists must submit work online. No CDs or e-mail submissions accepted.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS for accepted work
All work must be for sale. Garrison Art Center will retain 50% of the sale price. The Art Center is not responsible for the loss or damage of works while in transit. Storage charges will apply for work not picked up by January 11, 5pm. The Art Center reserves the right to reproduce accepted photographs on our website and in any advertising associated with this exhibition. All work selected for exhibition must be framed, ready to hang per the stated framing requirements. Garrison Art Center will provide the opening reception, awards, marketing and advertising for the exhibition. The Art Center has the right to refuse work which differs from the original submissions and selections by jurors, or work it considers pornographic or defamatory.
