Garrison Art Center's mission is to promote the creation, exhibition and enjoyment of art. Through its programs the Art Center connects you to new opportunities.
Perhaps the most compelling way in which the Art Center connects to its community is through its events. In 2014, the Art Center's 50th anniversary year, artists and the broader public were invited to participate in a steamrolling printmaking festival (read more about Rollin' on the River here, and click here to see video of the festival.)
A perennial favorite is the Riverside Art Auction, formerly known as Artists on Location. Each Spring, artists and art lovers gather under the tent on Garrison's Landing for a spirited live auction of slected works by area artists. A silent auction runs concurrently in the Riverside Galleries at Garrison Art Center and continues for the week following the live auction. Video of the 2015 auction is available here.
The Riverside Crafts Fair, typically held on the third weekend in August, has been praised as "the best little Craft Fair around." With the beautiful riverside location and carefully selected exhibitors, free parking and a delicious food court, visitors come from far and wide to enjoy the day on Garrison's Landing.
In 2015 Garrison Art Center offered a brand new and very popular Cabin Fever Film Series, with films by Director Paul Tschinkel. Read more about the film series here.

A lively and entertaining atmosphere is guaranteed with auctioneer Nicho Lowry of Swann Galleries, NYC at the Riverside Art Auction, held every year the Saturday before Mother's Day.
