During the 1980's I was an active participant in the downtown art scene of the East Village of New York City. I exhibited with the artist collective named COLAB and in various artist sponsored gallery shows. As an independent video maker, I also showed short videos in numerous festivals and was in the collection of the Donnell Public Library, MOMA and Video Data Bank of Chicago.
For 15 years, I have taken a hiatus from art-making and exhibiting. However for the past two years, I have begun to move back into art-making, beginning with watercolor and now combining water color with digitizing, fabric and collage materials. Two of the images attached are collages made from newspaper clippings, handmade paper and assorted material. The other three are from a series in which I am exploring the serenity of faces deemed by some to be "holy." They are made by scanning paintings into the computer and transferring them to fabric, then adding additional materials. |
