| HUDSON RIVER LIVE ART AUCTION | |
| |
| Shawn Dell Joyce |
|
On Saturday morning, October 4, 2008 eighty-five selected artists will choose their favorite location on the banks of the Hudson River or somewhere in the Hudson Valley, and paint until late afternoon. When the artists return to GAC, their paintings will be hung in the preview room until the auction begins at 4:00 PM, ending by 7:00 PM.
The paintings are still wet and definitely originals. There is no better way to experience the beauty of a Fall day on the Hudson River. Please join us for refreshments at 3:00 PM while you view the artwork. This bi-annual fundraiser has been a signature event at GAC since 1969. It brings artists to the Hudson Valley for a day of painting and creating, in a variety of media, au plein air at a location of their choice. The newly created works of art are available for purchase the same evening, under an auction tent on the riverside behind Garrison Art Center. In conjunction with the Artists on Location Live Auction, GAC holds a Silent auction of previously completed work by the same artists. It is exhibited in the galleries and on our website for a week following the live auction event. |
