DAVID EDDY

David Eddy is a self-taught painter who is firmly grounded in the mainstream of contemporary art. His semi-abstract figurative compositions are full of raw energy and emotion with a naive sophistication The New York Times described as "notably reminiscent of Paul Klee."

A roofing contractor for 25 years, Mr. Eddy's art career began only six years ago at the age of 46, when a well-known Los Angeles artist saw some crayon and chalk drawing of his. He encouraged David to try painting, and supplied him with materials. Within the past year, Mr. Eddy has had solo exhibitions in Kent, CT, Provincetown, MA, New York City, Hudson, NY, and Los Angeles.

"My painting was a gift," says Eddy. "A result of circumstances I could never have predicted or dreamed. I have embraced it with all the passion and energy that I own. I now know what I want to be when I grow up."
