Jerome Harris Parmet's steel sculpture is generally geared to outdoor display and is constructed to withstand the rigors of nature. As well, each piece is designed to stand securely within its environment so both young and old can enjoy interacting with the artwork without fear of collapse or undue cost to maintain. Parmet is fascinated by the strength and durability of steel while it allows a surprising liquidity and malleability. At times he works in sheet steel as with "C-SQUARED". "I enjoy having the freedom of creating sculpture, without constraint." To do so he uses sketches, macquettes and/or steel stripping to quickly "let the material find its own way."
