GET SERIOUS ABOUT ART AT GARRISON ART CENTER!
Garrison Art Center (GAC) offers classes seven days a week, great
Teaching
Artists, and a non-competitive setting for ADULTS, TEENS &
KIDS to explore
their excitement about being an artist.
YOUNG ARTIST PROGRAMMING (age 15+) positions GAC as the place for
creative
teens to connect with art, and each other. It is important
for artistic
youth to be supported as such, and GAC is committed to providing
serious,
college-level instruction to teens. Core classes are now
offered such as
"Drawing From the Live Model" with Carinda Swann and
"Figure Painting" with
David Loeb. A Fall workshop with Andrea Eisenberg,
"Sculpting From the Live
Model", anticipates a return of instruction in clay modeling
techniques this
winter. Also new are "Teen Pottery on the Wheel
with Beth Bolgla (in the
renovated ceramics studio), and "Silkscreen Techniques"
with Carlos Uribe.
PLEIN AIR WORKSHOPS place the excitement of GAC's Artist On
Location (AOL)
event into plein air instruction for adults & older teens.
Combined with the
Fall AOL October 4th, these new weekend workshops offer a great
way to spend
the Fall working outdoors. "Landscape Painting"
with Kevin Kearns, and
"Drawing with Pastels in the Landscape" with Sheilah
Rechtschaffer, provide
professional instruction in beautiful settings-- including
Garrison's
Landing, Stonecrop Gardens, and local private gardens.
