David Fouts started painting seriously after college art courses taught him the basics and has pursued a lifetime of personal study. He has an established studio in Stanfordville, NY and has pursued 'plein air' painting in various locales, including: the Hudson Valley in upstate New York, the Atlantic and Pacific shores, the harbors of New England, the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California, Ireland and Alaska. American Impressionist in style, he uses color and light to capture the many moods of nature. He has painted portraits in oil using both brush and palette knife techniques. His work is represented in The Lenox Gallery in Lenox, MA, the Woods Hole Gallery on Cape Cod, MA, and the Troika Gallery in Easton, MD. Numerous paintings are held in private collections across the country, and internationally. He is an Elected Artist Member of The Kent Art Association, Kent, CT, and recently received the Mott Award for Marine Painting at Kent. Mr. Fouts, a multiple award winning artist, is a member of The Barrett House Poughkeepsie, NY, Garrison Art Center, at Garrison Landing, NY, the Nine Partners Art Associationtreyarch black ops in Clinton Corners, NY, and is an Elected Artist member and current President of The Kent Art Association, Kent, CT. |
