 ARTIST STATEMENTEric Erickson is a designer and painter who works in a richly layered painterly style that is based on landscape as well as abstract minimalism. His influences include Guston, DeKooning, Mondrian and Blinky Palermo. Erickson's painting considers landscape as a sort of mindscape that evokes memory as well as the illusion of memory. His work is in numerous private and corporate collections, as well as the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. He lives in Garrison and New York City. |
