Waterworks, an exhibition of photographs by Scott Barrow, represents his 25-year fascination with the play of light on water. Barrow is drawn to light. Several years ago Barrow took a trip to Costa Rica with his family. "While in San Jose at lunch, I left the group and took a taxi to photograph the market district. Inadvertantly I had taken the car keys," he recalls. "An hour later I saw my family coming toward me across the market. 'How in the world did you find me?' I asked. My wife replied, 'I just looked for the good light and told the cab driver to take us toward it.'" The play of light on water is about the joy of immersion and reflection. The photographs in this exhibition are about being in, on and touched by water. Barrow has worked (and played) as a commercial photographer for 25 years. His work has appeared in hundreds of magazines, books, brochures and advertisements. He has had two books of photography published and has received more than 50 awards for creativity.
Scott Barrow and Karen Beckwith form the Beckwith/Barrow family. They have lived in Garrison, NY for the past 14 years and have two daughters, Ardis and Rebecca. |
